MEH MEH NEW YEAR 2015

First day of CNY.

Welfie with da family.

My sister!

Second day of CNY.
My family and relatives were planning to visit Taiwan since its my grandma's wish but sadly, due to my bro having exams straight after CNY, we postponed it and decided to go back Malacca again.

You can visit my previous blog on my first visit to Hatten Hotel (Premier room) here: http://aroundth-world.blogspot.sg/search/label/Malacca

Booked a 3D2N stay at Hatten Hotel; Junior suite room but this time round its not the premier rooms/level. Mom booked the coach again for 26 pax and thank goodness! The coach is spacious and the seats are so comfy.

The differences between premier and non-premier are not much, its just that the premier room is at higher level, have a small table and chairs at the window area and of course, the premier members' separate check in and check out at Premier Lounge (Level 12).
The rooms that we booked, also includes daily free buffet breakfast for 2, WI-FI and welcome drink at Alto lounge (Level 22). Luckily we did not waste money and book the premier ones.

The room is clean and spacious but some of the amentities are missing, such as the hairdryer, ironing board and hotel's instruction book - weird. Delivered within 15 minutes upon request for hairdryer, extra towel and slippers. The daily buffet breakfast changed venue from Alto lounge to Chatterz (Level 11) and the additional charge for another person is ~40 RM. Would like to say that the spread of the buffet breakfast is definitely so much better than the previous! Had a pretty shiok breakie :D

Stayed at level 17.
Visit my previous blog on Hatten hotel to do the comparison for both rooms.

King size bed :P

Totally forgotten to take picture of the separate living room, the photo above is taken from the previous trip as its exactly the same; with a tv and sofa.

View from our room.

Our ironing board is missing.. but since we're not using it so its okay.

While waiting for the welcome drink. Beautiful scenery!

Our dinner at Jonker street; Nancy's kitchen

Famous nonya popiah. The chilli is real spicy!

We ordered separately from the adults as there was only 4 of us at the table.

Ice cream POT! Pretty good! Do look for stalls that you're able to add the toppings yourself.

Marksman Lim helped me and sis won some soft toys hehe

Durian crepe that is so freaking delicious! Give it a try when you're there!

Durian fireball. Very chewy like mochi.

Caught a midnight movie "From Vegas to Macau II" just opposite our hotel for only 14 RM. The movie got us cracking up like mad. Comedy level 10/10.

The next day, my boy, brother and I had our brunch at Megamall; Ayam Penyat Ori. Bought some clothings and headed back to the hotel for gym!

On our way to gym and got to walk pass the swimming pool.

The gym facilities are really good! Roughly 30 weights are available, 5 treadmills, 2 bicycle thingy and many more (do not know the rest of the equipments' name)!

Third day of CNY

Woke up early in the morning for their breakfast buffet at Chatterz. The spread was so much much more awesome than last year's!

Just 1/30 of the buffet breakfast spread

Ham and cheese omelette that is cooked on the spot!

Family, relatives and friends <3

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

Valentine's Day 2015 - Staycation at Carlton Hotel & Lunch buffet at Sheraton Towers

On our first V'day together, we celebrated it at Sentosa @ Underwater world!
And then, for our second V'day, he whipped up an awesome meal!
So, for our third V'day which is this year, we headed down to Sheraton Towers @ The Dining Room for our lunch buffet. Awesome view of the waterfall, ambiance and service, but the food is rather disappointing. Buffet varieties are very limited and the taste and quality of the food are average? Nothing memorable. Luckily we did not go for the dinner buffet, as it cost about $108 per pax on V'day.
Beautiful view while nom-ing away

Had a 2D1N stay-cation @ Carlton Hotel. I guess we are stay-cation addicts :P
We started hunting for a nice hotel one month before the actual date and Carlton Hotel is the only one that matches our needs such as, the location (near MRTs and many major shopping malls - Bugis, Plaza Singapura , Raffles City), has bathtub and most importantly, the price. We booked through hotelclub.com, and got a Executive room with internet access at $247. The price range of other hotels are $300-$500+ and the rooms are not even that good.
Upon checking in, our room got upgraded to Premier Club room! So happy! :D This is the second time that our room got upgraded by a 5* hotel. The room is very spacious and clean, super comfy king size bed, two huge mirrors (YAY!) and a nice view from level 14.
These are NOT complimentary. Please take note!
Including the coffee making facilities, you need to pay for the capsules. Sad.
View from our room! Able to see the whole of CHIJMES.
Freshened up and off to visit the wax museum @ Madame Tussauds. Take the monorail from Vivocity at level 3 to Imbiah Station and the sentosa pass cost $4 or you can save the money (free for weekends, as for weekdays, it cost $1 per entry per person) by walking along the broadwalk towards Sentosa and take the monorail from there.
See something suspicious?
Selfie with Stephanie Sun!
After that, we caught a midnight movie 'Kingsman: The secret service' at Bugis + and its just 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
